The Hate Crime Report 2016
This report presents evidence about the needs and priorities of LGBT+ communities in relation to hate crime. 467 LGBT+ were surveyed and asked about their experiences of hate crime and interactions with services.
Despite progress on the issue of anti-LGBT+ hate crime, the results of this report suggest that homophobia, biphobia, transphobia, and anti-LGBT+ abuse remain a significant part of LGBT+ people’s lives. The results presented in this report also outline the considerable barriers that individuals face when trying to access assistance in terms of policy, practice and legislation.
