How to Game for Galop?
We’re thrilled that you’ve decided to game to unlock the futures of young LGBT+ victims and survivors of abuse.
Here’s all the information you need to get started:
What could my streams do for Galop?
By gaming for Galop, you could be unlocking the lives of young LGBT+ victims and survivors. The money you raise could help fund our National Abuse and Violence service for LGBT+ youth, as well as our other vital support services available to the wider community. This means that more LGBT+ people will be able to access vital support like crisis funds for food and clothing; access to emergency housing and ongoing emotional and practical support.

Any tips on how to boost donations?
The best way to boost your donations is by involving the people watching your streams. Tiltify has interactive tools, like polls, rewards and milestones to try out. Here are some suggestions on how you could use them:
Polls
Whether it’s putting on a costume, undertaking a forfeit or a decision in your game – your community want to have their say! You could put the power in their hands by using voting polls during your stream.
Rewards
Offer donors who give over a certain amount a reward – this could be something that you do during the stream (like 10 burpees), or actually sending them something (a prop you’ve used on your stream or a sticker).
Milestones
You’ve hit the halfway point in your fundraising! How are you going to celebrate with your community? More importantly, what do you think they want to see?
Set milestone goals for your fundraising to bring hype to your stream and targets, so your community can help you get there. This could be at any point of your fundraising target, and could be any form of celebrating – the more entertaining to watch, the better!
How can I tell my community about my fundraising page during my stream?
Let a Chat Bot do the work for you! You can set up a Chat Bot to send messages at timed intervals during your stream, with information about Galop and your fundraising page.

What can I tell people about Galop?
Galop is the UK’s LGBT+ anti-abuse charity. We work with and for LGBT+ victims and survivors of abuse via our national helplines and advocacy services. We specialise in supporting victims and survivors of domestic abuse, sexual violence, hate crime, so-called ‘conversion therapies’ and other forms of abuse.
We are a service run by LGBT+ people, for LGBT+ people. The needs of our community is at the heart of what we do.
By taking part in Stream of Screams, you could raise money for a National Abuse and Violence service for LGBT+ youth in the UK or our other vital support services.
Do you have key stats that I can share with my community?
- We’re seeing 3 young people a week who are in extreme crisis, experiencing situations like physical violence, sexual abuse, emotional and psychological abuse, kidnapping, human trafficking or homelessness.
- We’ve seen an over 60% increase in LGBT+ people who have come to Galop for help over the past year.
- More than 80% of LGBT+ victims and survivors Galop surveyed told us they have little or no access to specialist LGBT+ support services where they lived.
